Where is the best place to park?
The City of Frederick has four convenient parking decks downtown. The Carroll Creek, Court Street, W. Patrick Street and Church Street parking decks all offer parking in close proximity to the event. Cost is $5 to park all day on Saturdays. To access the Church Street parking deck, take East Street to East Second Street. There will be a sign for the entrance to the parking deck on the left hand side of the street. Patrick Street provides access to the Carroll Creek and W. Patrick Street parking decks. The Court Street parking deck can be accessed by taking Bentz Street to Church Street, and then turning right onto Court Street.  The parking deck is located on the left hand side.  Handicapped parking is available in all four parking decks.

Is there a shuttle service for the event?

Please note - no shuttle service will be provided this year.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.

Which streets remain open during the event?
Most of the roads surrounding the event remain open. South Street on the south end and Seventh Street on the north end of town remain open. Patrick Street is also open throughout the day.

What is the best way to get to In The Street?
Since so many streets are affected by this event, please check out our Directions/Parking page for more info.

Is alcohol allowed at In The Street?
Alcohol is not permitted at In The Street.  However, there are two Beer and Wine Gardens.  One is located in the parking lot next to Olde Town Tavern at 325 N. Market Street.  The second area is located near the Carroll Creek Amphitheater, across from the C. Burr Artz Public Library.  You must be 21 with ID to enter.  For a small fee, visitors will receive tickets good for samples from local wineries and breweries.  You can also stop by the great pubs and restaurants throughout the downtown area.

Can I bring my pet?
A CITY ORDINANCE PROHIBITS PETS AT IN THE STREET, WHICH INCLUDES REPTILES.  Large crowds and loud noises are not healthy for pets, so please leave them at home.  Code Enforcement will be on hand to enforce this ordinance.

Am I allowed to set-up a booth?

All participants must be approved by the In The Street Committee and receive a license from The City of Frederick Office of Special Events.  If you are interested in being involved, please call The City of Frederick Office of Special Events to be placed on the invitation list for 2010.  Code Enforcement representatives will be on-site to verify that all participants display the licenses distributed by the Office of Special Events.

I
s there a lost and found?
Event Information Booths serve as lost and found collection sites.  Found items not claimed will be taken to The City of Frederick Office of Special Events, William Talley Recreation Center, 121 North Bentz St, 301-600-2844. All items will be kept for thirty days.

What happens if my child gets lost?

If your child is lost, please report immediately to one of the Event Information Booths. Committee members and volunteers will have access to emergency personnel throughout the event.
