Celebrate the true meaning of the holidays during the annual Festival of Lights. Due to the impending rain forecast for December 5, the event will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 106 W. Church Street. The ceremony will begin at 7 pm in the sanctuary. Guests are invited to enter the building from the Church Street entrance.
The Festival of Lights will showcase the musical talents of the Frederick Children’s Chorus Touring Ensemble under the direction of Artistic Director and founder, Judy DuBose. The chorus will perform two songs, Here We Come A’ Caroling and S’Vivon, and will lead the audience in a sing-along of classic carols.
This year’s program will feature inspirational speaker Karlys Kline, Founder of the Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County. The evening will come to an end with a moving candle lighting ceremony, presided over by Mayor Randy McClement. Mayor McClement will light the first candle as the lights inside All Saints’ Episcopal Church are dimmed, and candles will be passed from neighbor to neighbor, until the sanctuary is filled with light.
