Alcohol

OUTSIDE BEVERAGES
Outside alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted into the event.

EVENT BEVERAGES
Tastings are regulated to 3/8 oz. pours for all guests. The purchase of bottles or 5 oz. glasses of wine will be available from all participating wineries.


ATM Access

There are multiple ATM’s within walking distance of the event.


Children

The event is geared to those 21 or older. There are no planned children’s activities and strollers will be prohibited for use at the event. Children 12 & under are free.


Dates & Times

The event takes place annually on the first Saturday in August from 1 to 7 PM. VIP Admission Ticket Access from 1 to 7 PM. General Admission, Designated Driver, Youth (Ages 13 – 20) and Children 12 and Under from 3 to 7 PM.


Entrance & Exit Points

Access and exit from the event from 1 to 7 pm will be exclusively at the entrances to Carroll Creek Urban Park at S. Market Street and S. East Street.  At 7 pm several exits will be opened by security for ease of exit.


Event Cancellation

The Frederick Wine Festival is a rain or shine event with no weather date in place. The activities and entertainment may stop during a storm, but are scheduled to resume once a storm passes. Please use common sense when seeking shelter from the storm. Weather updates will be posted on our main Frederick’s Wine Festival page, via local media outlets and our social media accounts. Ticket purchases are non-refundable.


First Aid

An EMT will be located at the top of the suspension bridge for the length of the event.  If you require assistance any security officer onsite is able to access communication with the EMT immediately.


Food

Outside food and nonalcoholic beverages are permitted to be brought into the event but will be subject to search.  A reminder that a variety of downtown chefs will be on site offering culinary options ranging from the savory to the sweet!


Information Booth

The Information booth will be open from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and located under the suspension bridge midway of Carroll Creek Urban Park.

Volunteers at this booth will have access to emergency personnel if needed.


Hotel Accommodations

Looking for a great place to stay for the festival weekend? Book your tickets by July 29th and hotel in one at locally owned and operated Courtyard Frederick.

Lost & Found

EVENT DAY
The information booth will serve as the only lost and found collection site.

POST EVENT
Found items not claimed will be taken to The City of Frederick Office of Special Events, William Talley Recreation Center, 121 North Bentz Street, 301-600-2844.

All items will be kept for thirty days.


Parking

PARKING DECKS
The City of Frederick has five convenient parking decks located in close proximity to the event.  24 hours per day, Monday through Sunday, the public parking garages charge $1 per hour. The maximum daily rate between the hours of 6:30AM and 3:30PM is $12 and the maximum nightly rate (3:30PM until 6:30AM) is $5. Daily rates begin at 6:30AM each day. On Sunday, the public parking garages offer free parking from 8AM until 2PM. Monthly passes are available for $97 per month and can be purchased at the parking department office.The decks provide ample parking and are a short walk from the event.

METERED PARKING

On-street metered parking is $2 per hour on the following blocks:

  • 0-99 block of S Market St
  • 0-299 block of N Market St
  • 0-199 block of E Patrick St
  • 0-199 block of W Patrick St
  • 0-99 block of E Church St
  • 0-99 block of W Church St

On-street metered parking is $1 per hour at all other parking meters.

There is a two hour parking limit at all parking meters, unless otherwise noted. Meters can be paid using coins, or by using the Parkmobile app (available on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry) or preloaded cards (which can be purchased and reloaded at the parking department).

Metered parking is free after 5PM Monday through Saturday and free on Sundays.

Participation

Selection process for the Frederick Wine Festival begins annually in March.

FOOD
Chefs/Restaurants/Vendors are required to create a two-fold menu including a small VIP Tasting Plate to be served to up to 700 VIP guests between the hours of 1 – 3 PM. Second, create a selection of full size offerings that will be available for sale to all attendees from 1 – 7 PM.


Permitted/Prohibited Items

PERMITTED
Blankets/tarps and low folding chairs for the grounds surrounding the Carroll Creek Amphitheater. Coolers or collapsible handcarts/wagons for food or picnic baskets are permitted and will be searched at the gate.

PROHIBITED
Tents, strollers, wagons, large umbrellas, pop-ups, grills, tables, glass containers, alcohol, any illegal substance, weapons of any kind or objects that appear to be weapons are not permitted at the event.


Pets

Due to the event location and anticipated attendance pets will not be permitted into the event. Registered service dogs are welcome but will require proper documentation to be admitted along with owner.


Re-Entry

Exiting the event will take place at the tented entrance areas where your ticket was scanned or purchased. Re-entry is permitted but you must be stamped upon exit.


Safety Concerns

Please report any suspicious or inappropriate activity to the information booths, any event day volunteer wearing a Celebrate Frederick VOLUNTEER shirt and professional on site security officers. All will have access to promptly contact law enforcement and emergency personnel throughout the event.

If you experience a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911.


Smoking

A city ordinance (Section 10-2 City Code) finds the throwing cigarette butts on the ground as a Municipal Infraction. Violators will face a fine of $50 and possibly be charged with the cost of clean-up.

Valid Forms of Identification

All VIP and Advance ticket purchasers will be required to present a valid form of identification for entrance to into the event. Your ticket purchase DOES NOT guarantee event admission without valid identification for those 21 & over. Acceptable forms of identification are as follows:
