DESCRIPTION:Join Celebrate Frederick at a Drive-Up Fireworks Display at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium sponsored by Flying Dog Brewery\, GEICO Local Office and Sandy Spring Bank in partnership with 99.9 WFRE Free Country..  Stadium lots open at 6:30 PM for FREE parking to enjoy the show from the socially distanced safety of your vehicle.  Tune in to 99.9 WFRE Free Country while you wait for pre-show fun with your favorite DJs\, and stay tuned during the show for a live broadcast of the display’s custom soundtrack!  The show is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 PM. \nAttendees are reminded to remain inside their vehicles once parked.  Alcohol\, outdoor grills and congregating outside of vehicles is prohibited.  Public restrooms are not available on site.  Parking is available at stadium lots off New Design Road and Stadium Drive.  Overflow parking is available at Costco Wholesale\, 10 Monocacy Blvd.\, after 6 PM. \nSpecial thanks to event partners The City of Frederick and  The Frederick Keys! \n

DESCRIPTION:Take in downtown Frederick through the eyes of talented\, local artists as they practice plein air painting along Market Street on Saturday\, September 12th\, 1 – 5 PM during Art In The Streets coordinated in partnership with The Frederick Art Club! \nPARTICIPATING ARTISTS INCLUDE: \nJanet Arsenault\nWatch Janet paint at 123 N. Market Street\nJanet is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society. This year\, she has been honored to have several paintings selected for juried shows\, including a painting selected for the Adirondack American Watercolor Exhibition\, the Baltimore Watercolor Society online Mid Atlantic Exhibition and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society online juried exhibition. A retired FCPS teacher and longtime resident of Frederick\, Janet enjoys painting with watercolor and teaching watercolor painting part time at the Delaplaine Art Center. \nSheryl Massaro\nWatch Sheryl paint at 15 N. Market Street\nSheryl is an oil painter\, poet\, and photographer based in historic Frederick\, MD\, where she is active in several arts organizations. Sheryl’s oils and photography have been exhibited in many galleries and museums nationally\, and are in several private collections. Her work\, though often based on the recognizable\, shares a deeper\, “off to the side” look at life than the purely representational. In 2018\, she became a Resident Artist at Frederick’s Griffin Art Center\, where she works from her Art & Pen Studio. Sheryl’s visual art is represented by DISTRICT Arts\, 15 N. Market Street\, Frederick\, MD. \nMatthew Mitchell\nWatch Matthew paint at 203 N. Market Street\nMatthew has been a Frederick local since 2012.  He enjoys the challenge of plein air painting\, and loves making large interesting paintings in studio. \nAnn Schaefer\nWatch Ann paint at 242 N. Market Street\nAnn has been showing her art in downtown Frederick’s Gallery 322 for 11 years. Primarily an outdoor painter\, she finds inspiration in the cityscapes and landscapes of Maryland. She participates in organized plein air events and group exhibits\, where she often wins awards. \nTom Semmes\nWatch Tom paint at 217 N. Market Street\nTom began painting in his teens\, inspired by the forests and fields of his childhood Potomac\, MD\, home\, and by the works of impressionist and post-impressionist artists on view in local museums. His art combines the study of the observable world\, and the memory and feelings of places that have inspired him. He paints in oil with a rich application of color and expressive brush strokes. As one collector said\, his work can best be described as “like (Edward) Hopper but happy!” \nVisitors are reminded to enjoy the artwork safely by practicing social distancing\, and by wearing a mask when social distancing is not possible!

DESCRIPTION:A 33 year tradition in Frederick –  Frederick’s 4th features regional and national entertainment beginning at noon on 2 stages of entertainment. Families from the surrounding region enjoy a day packed with amusements\, activities and entertainment. Dunk a Frederick celebrity or take in the Volleyball Tournament – there is a little something for everyone. \nPick a seat early\, because the park fills up quickly for Frederick’s one and only fireworks show at dusk.  Great seats can be found surrounding the swimming pool on Fleming Avenue\, on the Frederick High School lawn and now in the entire Carillon area of Baker Park.
