Tasker’s Chance Garden Club

The Tasker’s Chance Garden Club is delighted to assist Celebrate Frederick by acting as this year’s planning partner for the Beyond the Garden Gates tour! We thank all of the homeowners, as well as the public gardens, who have been so generous in sharing the beautiful gardens they have designed and maintain.

Tasker’s Chance Garden club was founded and federated in 1949. Our membership is comprised of up to 35 active members, as well as social, associate and honorary members. Our purpose, as stated in our bylaws, is “to stimulate among members a love of gardening, to encourage the protection of native plants and birds and to participate in correlated civic and educational projects.”

As members of the Tasker’s Chance Garden Club, we are proud of the civic work our club performs in the City of Frederick and surrounding area. Our organization supports ongoing beautification projects, which include Flowers Over Frederick, Friends of Baker Park, Arbor Day activities, and The LUCE Foundation for Children Miss Helen Smith Studio Project. For many years, Tasker’s Chance Garden Club members have maintained the gardens surrounding the Skater’s Shelter at Culler Lake, located in Baker Park. A Blue Star By-Way Marker, which pays tribute to the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces, was added to the garden in 2014. Tasker’s Chance Garden Club also supports garden therapy at The Frederick County Senior Center located in Frederick.

Our club proudly supports these Frederick area beautification projects and we look forward to continuing our efforts and contributions. Thank you all for your generous support of the 2018 Beyond the Garden Gates tour!
