FAQ

We have compiled answers to commonly asked questions surrounding the Summer Concert Series. If you do not find the answer you were looking for here, feel free to contact Celebrate Frederick at 301-600-2844.

Many of the items below are based on City of Frederick Charter and Code Ordinances. For the ones which relate to ours events click here.


Alcohol

Visitors are not permitted to bring their own alcohol into the park.


Band Selection

The Summer Concert Series Committee begins meeting in November to review promotional packets from groups interested in performing the following summer. Public suggestions are encouraged and reviewed prior to selecting a line up. If you have a suggestion, contact the Office of Special Events at 301-600-2844.


Concert Cost

All concerts are free to the public. In lieu of admission, the Summer Concert Series committee asks attendees to bring a canned food item to donate to the Frederick Food Bank. All donations should be brought to the Drees Homes Information Booth.


First Aid

Minor first aid materials are available at the Drees Homes Information Booth. If greater assistance is needed, volunteers will be able to contact emergency personnel.


Food & Non Alcoholic Beverages

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will available for purchase from participating Food Trucks, located behind the Drees Home Information Booth from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.


Handicap Accessibility

Concert Seating

The Baker Park Bandshell offers wheelchair seating at the top of the seating bowl and ramped access to the stage.

Parking

Handicap Parking can be found on the southside of W. Second Street along the Talley Recreation Center


Information Booth

The Drees Home Information Booth will be open from 7:00 pm till the end of the concert. In addition to providing information about the concert, volunteers at these booths will have access to emergency personnel if needed.


Lost Children

If your child is lost, please report immediately to the Drees Home Information Booth or any concert volunteer. All will have access to promptly contact emergency personnel.


Lost & Found

Concert Night

The Drees Home Information Booth serves as the lost and found collection site.

Post Concert

Found items not claimed will be taken to The City of Frederick Office of Special Events, William Talley Recreation Center, 121 North Bentz St, 301-600-2844. All items will be kept for thirty days.


Parking Recommendations

Street Parking

Street parking is available, but will be limited, in the area surroundning Baker Park.

Parking Decks

Church Street, Court Street and W. Patrick Street Decks. The decks provide ample parking and are a short walk from the park. Decks are just $1.00 on Sundays


Pets

Pets are welcome at the Summer Concert Series. However, due to limited space in the seating area directly in front of the bandshell we do ask that all pets are kept in the lawn.


Rain Policy

Concert cancellations are announced on the specific concert event page on www.celebratefrederick.com and will be posted on Celebrate Frederick’s Facebook page and Instagram.

Every effort is made to post cancellation notices by 5 PM on the day of the concert.


Safety Concerns

Please report any suspicious or inappropriate activity at the Drees Homes Information Booth or to any concert volunteer. All will have access to promptly contact law enforcement and emergency personnel.


Smoking

Smoking

A city ordinance (G-12-06) prohibits smoking is banned in several park locations. Violators will be cited with a Municipal Citation and face a fine of $25. The event areas are:

  • Any playground within a City park and any point within 10 ft surrounding the playground
  • The fixed seating area adjacent to the Baker Park band shell.

Littering

A city ordinance (Section 10-2 City Code) finds the throwing cigarette butts on the ground as a Municipal Infraction. Violators will face a fine of $50 and possibly be charged with the cost of clean-up.
